As a general rule, mainstream consumer Altecs in good enough condition to only need new XO caps are worth its component inflation adjusted sum total or ~$2500 today, though this relatively rare one is probably potentially worth twice this to a collector. Personally, at either price I'd rather have a new GPA 604 III in a new custom made cab.

To remove the driver, lay the speaker face down, remove the driver mounting screws, wiring and use either a very thin putty knife, nylon fishing line, picture hanging wire or similar to slowly pry/'slice' the driver loose if it doesn't easily lift away initially.
